Heat pump as standard
Every Model Y uses a heat pump. One compressor and a set of valves heat and cool both the cabin and the battery, so an AC problem can also affect charging on hot days.

Close to the Model 3
The Model Y shares much of its drivetrain and electronics with the Model 3, but it is heavier and sits higher, which loads the suspension more.

16V battery on newer cars
Newer Model Y cars use a 16V lithium-ion low-voltage battery. After replacement it must be reset and configured before the car accepts it.

The Model Y at EV Zone
The Model Y is Tesla’s mid-size SUV. Its size and weight put more load on the suspension than the Model 3, and its heat pump makes the AC circuit part of battery cooling, so both deserve attention in a UAE summer.
Many of the jobs below also apply to the Model 3, which shares much of the same hardware.
What a Model Y service covers at EV Zone
The Model Y needs no oil changes or spark plugs, but tyres, brakes, suspension joints, filters, coolant and the low-voltage battery still wear, and a heavy SUV on speed bumps and in summer heat wears them faster. We carry out minor and major services and standard inspections on the Model Y. A service checks the tyres for tread, pressures and damage; the brake discs, pads, calipers and fluid; the suspension and steering joints; the coolant, radiator and condenser; the cabin air filters; the health of the 12V or 16V battery; the lights, wipers and washers; and the alerts and fault codes stored in the car. Cabin filters and brake fluid are replaced when due, and discs that judder from light use can be skimmed on the lathe rather than replaced. See service and inspection and brake service.
Which Model Y do you have?
The Model Y has been sold in rear-wheel-drive and dual-motor Long Range and Performance versions, and the updated Model Y introduced in early 2025 has new lights, a revised interior and reworked suspension, so several parts differ from earlier cars. Every Model Y has a heat pump, but the low-voltage battery changed from 12V to 16V on newer cars, so the year and version decide which part fits: send both on WhatsApp before you come in.

Questions owners ask
Why does my Model Y knock over speed bumps?
Worn control-arm bushes, ball joints or anti-roll bar links are common causes on a heavy SUV. A clunk when pulling away is more often the drive-unit bushes. Both need checking before a part is replaced.
Can you replace the 16V battery on a Model Y?
Yes. We replace it and carry out the reset and configuration the car needs afterwards. See 12V and 16V battery.
My Model Y cools poorly when parked. Why?
With the car still, only the fans move air through the front radiator, so a radiator packed with dust or a low refrigerant charge shows up first in traffic or while charging. See AC and heat pump repair.
My Model Y will not charge. Is it the battery?
Not always. A fault in the PCS, a contactor or the charge port can stop charging while the cells are healthy, and a recall covers the contactors on some cars: check your VIN with Tesla first. Send a photo of the message and tell us which charger you used, and we tell you where to start. See HV battery and power electronics.
Can you check a used Model Y before I buy it?
Yes. Book a pre-purchase inspection on WhatsApp with the year and version and bring the car to the workshop. It takes about 1 to 2 hours and covers the stored alerts, both batteries, tyres, brakes, suspension, cooling, AC, the charge port and the underbody, with a written report that includes the battery health status.
Do you offer pickup and drop-off for a Model Y?
