In detail
What an electric car still needs
With no engine, an EV skips oil changes, spark plugs and timing belts. What remains are the parts every car has: tyres, brakes, suspension, steering, lights, wipers and cabin filters, plus the cooling system and the low-voltage battery that electric cars depend on.
Brakes that are used less
Regenerative braking does much of the slowing, so the pads and discs on an EV last longer, but they can corrode or stick from lack of use. A service checks that the brakes still work freely; see brake service.
Checks that matter in the UAE
Heat and dust are the main enemies here. Clogged radiators and condensers make the cooling and AC work harder, cabin filters fill with dust, and heat shortens the life of 12V batteries and rubber bushes. These are worth checking at every service, and a radiator deep clean is worth asking about before summer.

Do electric cars need servicing?
Yes, though less than petrol cars: there is no engine oil, spark plugs or clutch. Brakes, tyres, suspension, cabin filters, coolant and the low-voltage battery still wear, and UAE heat and dust add to it.
How often should I service my Tesla?
Tesla lists its recommended maintenance by time and distance in the owner's manual, rather than a fixed yearly service. In UAE conditions, a yearly check of the brakes, suspension, filters and cooling is a sensible habit.
