How we price a repair
No electric car repair comes from a fixed list, because the same symptom can have a small cause or a large one. Here is how a job is priced at EV Zone, what moves the cost up or down, and what you have in writing before any work starts.
Step by step
From your message to the finished job
-
1. Send the details
Make, model, year and what you see, hear or feel, plus any warning on the screen. A photo or a short video helps. From that we can usually tell you what the check will involve.
-
2. Diagnosis at the workshop
We read the car, inspect the parts involved and find the actual cause. A weak AC can be a dirty radiator or a failing compressor; the diagnosis decides which, before any part is ordered.
-
3. A written quote on WhatsApp
You receive the quote in writing: the parts, the labour and the programming the car needs afterwards, with the time the job takes. Nothing starts until you approve it.
-
4. The work, and a word if anything changes
If the job uncovers something the quote did not cover, we stop and ask you first. You decide, with the numbers in front of you.
-
5. Hand-over
The invoice matches the approved quote. For battery jobs and inspections you also get the report we promised.

What makes a repair cost more or less
- The part: a drive-unit bush is a small job; a complete drive unit or battery pack replacement is a large one
- Whether the part is repaired or replaced: motor bushes, isolation faults and coolant leaks are often repairs, not replacements
- Programming: contactors, the power conversion system and some batteries need the car to be programmed after the part is fitted
- Access: parts behind the battery or the subframe take more hours than parts in the front trunk
- Parts supply: common Tesla, BYD and Volkswagen ID parts are quick to get; rarer ones take longer
FAQ
Questions about pricing
Can I get a price without bringing the car?
We can give you an idea on WhatsApp from the model and the symptoms, and tell you what the check will involve. A firm quote needs the diagnosis, because two cars with the same complaint can need different repairs.
Why is there no price list on the site?
Because a price list would have to guess at the cause. The quote you receive is for your car, after the diagnosis, in writing, before any work.
What if you find more work once the car is open?
We stop and tell you what we found, with the cost, and wait for your decision. The invoice follows the quote you approved.
Do company fleets pay the same?
Fleet pricing is agreed per contract, with monthly invoicing and priority booking. See company fleets.
Is a recall repair chargeable?
No. If a fault is covered by a maker's recall, we tell you so you can have it done free at the maker's service centre. Our battery page has an example.
